For all the Questions you might have about the Club.


Question: When and Where does the Club meet?
Answer: The Club meets Thursdays from 5:30pm-9:30pm.
We are now located in Bldg 15 room 1808.
Club meetings may run over time slightly occasionally. You can always find the Club by the Club Flag posted outside the room the club is meeting in.


Question: What is the Neo Anime Club?
Answer: Neo Anime Club is the on campus anime club for Cal Poly Pomona. We not only watch anime, but we build a social community that is inviting for all. We also show some of the best live action shows to ever hit Japan. We also get you discounts for eductional trips to places like Anime Expo.


Question: What do you do at Neo Anime?
Answer: Neo Anime watches Japanese Animation, otherwise known as anime. We pride ourselves on spreading knowledge of Anime, Manga (Japanese Comic Books), and general Japanese Culture to our members.


Question: What kind of Anime do you watch?
Answer: Neo Anime watches lots of different kinds of anime. The goal is to offer a broad range of Anime genres so that all our members can watch something they like. We tend to show the newest anime that has yet to be licensed in America and provided via Fansub groups. All Anime shown at the club are shown in original Japanese Dubbing/audio and English fansubs.


Question: What are fansubs?
Answer: Fansubs are Fan translated Anime. Fans translate and encode subtitles to anime that has yet to be licensed in America so that fans of anime that can't speak or read Japanese can enjoy anime that's yet to be seen in other parts of the World. Fansub groups to do not fansub or provide fansubs for Anime that has been licensed in America, the good ones at least.


Question: What does Neo Anime offer?
Answer: We offer the students of Cal Poly Pomona a place where you can watch anime that you may have never seen before. We also provide people who you may wish to become friends with and share your anime experiences with them.


Question: Who runs the club?
Answer: The Club from the previous year has elected Officers that will run the club for the following year. All Officers are students of Cal Poly Pomona who run various parts of the club. As a member of the club, your only job is to come and watch anime, the officers will take care of the rest.


Question: How do you become a member?
Answer: During the 3rd or 4th week of school, Officers will notify the Club that we are accepting paid membership. YOU DO NOT HAVE TO BE A PAID MEMBER OF THE CLUB TO JOIN OUR MEETINGS! Paid membership is optional, but highly recommended.
Those that show up to three or more meetings are considered non-paid members.


Question: What are the benefits of being a paid member of the Club?
Answer: Paid Membership gives you access to the Club Library, full of anime that you can borrow from. Paid members also get a chance to participate in Raffles for a chance to win Anime posters, figures, and random Anime merchandise. Paid members also get a Discount price on attendance to next Anime Expo the following summer if you sign up thru the club.


Question: When is the First meeting?
Answer: Club Meetings will start on the Second Thursday of the new Quarter except for Summer Quarter.
